Several hundred people, mostly youth, braved the weather on December 1, 2006 to rally and march from Roxbury to Boston City Hall to commemorate Rosa Parks Human Rights Day.
Chanting "Rosa Parks Human Rights Day! No Poverty! No Racism! No Sexism! No Violence! No War!" the demonstrators received an overwhelmingly positive response from people on the sidewalks and in apartment buildings along the way. City Councilors Chuck Turner, Charles Yancey & Sam Yoon all declared their support for making December 1 a holiday in honor of Rosa Parks.
